Its thick leather handles are nailed inside then riveted on the outside for added strength so the Householder can accommodate a heavy load. 

Here’s a clever way this basket can do double duty: when you head to the pool, pond, lake or ocean, pack your Householder (or any Peterboro laundry basket) with your clean beach towels and blankets. Then load it up with the wet, soiled items for the trip home. You’ll have everything in one handy carrier ready to wash and dry.
