In case you can’t already tell not only do we love baskets, but we love sharing with you just how much we really do love everything about them. Do you ever think back to the very first basket? And how it was so beautifully hand woven? If you said yes you’re not alone! Call us crazy but we think about it all the time. There’s just something about the timeless beauty and functionality of a basket. When you think about it, our ancestors had been doing it for years before us, perfecting their skills to hand down to us.
Now there are only a select few of us that share joy in this art form. And just like our ancestors, we practiced for years to get it just right. In the April 2012 edition of Country Living magazine the history of Peterboro Basket was shared with all of our country and basket lovers. With over 150 years of history and practice, we have perfected our craft.
Did you know that our baskets were originally woven for fishermen and farmers in Peterborough? This was all the way back in 1854. Crazy right? We thought so too! Want to read more? Check it out here with the excerpt of our feature in Country Living!
